Cory Hoeferlin, MD


Cory Hoeferlin, MD, MBA is a comprehensive ophthalmologist. He provides medical and surgical care for his patients, specializing in the treatment of refractive errors, cataracts, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Dr. Hoeferlin is a skilled cataract surgeon who employs advanced technology intraocular lenses that allow for the treatment of presbyopia and astigmatism in order to provide optimal visual outcomes. He is also certified in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) techniques, and has extensive experience in SLT and LPI lasers to help treat and control glaucoma.

Dr. Hoeferlin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Dartmouth College where he graduated cum laude. He received his Medical Doctorate degree at Emory University School of Medicine and his Master in Business Administration at the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles. After medical school, Dr. Hoeferlin completed his internship in internal medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and his residency in ophthalmology at the prestigious UCLA Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles, California. During his residency training, he performed extensive research in the field of medical innovation and healthcare economics, focusing on the optimization of the perioperative patient experience. His research has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals and has presented at national and international ophthalmology conferences.

Dr. Hoeferlin is passionate about helping his patients achieve the best possible vision and quality of life by actively engaging his patients in their medical care and tailoring treatment to each patient’s individual needs. When not practicing ophthalmology, Dr. Hoeferlin enjoys exploring the Bay Area with his wife and son.
